Project Requirements

Nationwide Building Society is a major UK building society headquartered in Swindon, England. It operates an ATM network of approximately 2300 ATMs of 14 different types and models. Nationwide's ATM fleet includes:

  • NCR 'Fast'
  • NCR P76M
  • Wincor ATMs

Nationwide Building Society engaged KAL to integrate their network using a single network management solution.

KAL's Solution

We believe KAL's solution for Nationwide created what is likely to be the most integrated ATM solution in the world. To achieve this, KAL's Kalignite NDC application and Kalignite Platform middleware were deployed on Nationwide's ATM network of approximately 6000 teller stations.

Nationwide's ATM network supports the standard NDC+ protocol. They support all of the legacy transactions and a full passbook transaction set, including; cash deposit; cheque deposit and 'bank draft' printing. The network is driven by ACI's Base24 system, and uses NCR's Gasper system for monitoring. ATM incidents are managed using BMC's Remedy.

KAL's solution supports many advanced technologies, including:
