Australia's Bank of Queensland rolls out KAL ATM Software for superior customer experience

Australia might be known as a land of sweeping plains, but KAL is doing a good job of traversing the desert continent, as part of one of the largest ATM expansions by an Australian bank in several years.

KAL is being deployed on more than 400 ATMs by Australia’s largest ATM company, Customers ATM, which is operating the ATMs under a five-year managed service agreement with Bank of Queensland Limited (BOQ).

The ATMs are being deployed in combined rediATM and BOQ branding, and will provide fee-free ATM access to more than eight million cardholders nationwide.

KAL software was a key part of Customers ATM’s proposal to BOQ in a highly-competitive tender process.

BOQ general manager of digital banking and distribution Craig Broomfield said BOQ was very impressed with the technological capability of the combined Customers ATM and KAL offer.

“The leading technology combined with multi-platform KAL software allows BOQ to provide what we believe will be a superior customer experience,” Mr Broomfield said.

The installation program of the ATMs is on track, with the first installed in Western Australia in September, and the project due for completion in mid-2012.
