China’s Tianjin Rural Commercial Bank (TRCB) is now operating five KAL RTMs in the city of Tianjin ̶ with additional RTMs to be deployed soon.
The RTMs have all been installed by TRCB in merchant locations – convenience stores, pharmacies and a travel agents – making them easily accessible for the local community.
The RTM provides a full set of financial transactions, including cash withdrawals, transfer, balance inquiry, mobile top-up and bill payments. For cash withdrawals, the customer receives a secure ticket, which the shop owner exchanges for cash from the till.
Early feedback suggests the RTMs will prove a popular method of banking for residents, particularly the facility to make bill payments, which is very convenient for customers. Cash withdrawal is also expected to be well-used as there are no ATMs within easy walking distance.
