Things have definitely changed. The new rules liberate businesses to choose the best delivery platforms to deliver e-commerce: home PCs, kiosks, ATMs or other new channels. Consumers can buy products and services from their favorite Web sites from virtually anywhere. How? KAL's Kalignite Web Commerce Client (KWCC) is an application component in the Kalignite software suite. In the software architecture it "sits on top" of Kalignite. There are two approaches to deploying Web sites to self-service networks that include ATMs or kiosks (or both).

One approach is to leave the existing site unchanged, and simply use KWCC's features to enable the site to run properly on a self-service terminal. The Web Commerce Client will automatically detect any of the Web site's functions that run differently on an ATM or kiosk than on a home PC. For example...

	When prompted to enter credit card information, the user can use an attached card reader or insert money into a cash acceptor (depending on how the system is configured)
	If a user walks away in the middle of a transaction, KWCC will clear all transactional information and get ready for the next customer
	Orders for items like tickets printed on special stock paper can be fulfilled at the point of purchase (again, depending on how the system is configured)
	Links to other Web sites can be blocked, restricting the function of the self-service system to a specific site or set of sites
	Web Commerce Client will intercept error conditions and display an appropriate self-service message for the user to read

The second approach to deploying e-commerce Web sites to self-service devices is to design a new site. The Web Commerce Client is ideally suited to this approach as well, since it has been specifically designed to assure secure, reliable delivery of Web sites to any self-service system.
