Why banks are changing strategy when it comes to buying software

The increasing trend for banks to buy their software and hardware separately is highlighted in a recent article on the Finextra website.

The article, 'ATM deployers are changing procurement strategy', takes its findings from RBR’s ATM Software 2016 study. It highlights four reasons for banks’ change in strategy, saying separate buying gives banks:

  • A wider choice of hardware vendors
  • The potential for lower costs
  • The technology necessary for assisted self-service
  • The ability to customize their own software architecture.
