China Everbright Bank deploys Kalignite Multivendor ATM software

(BEIJING) KAL announced today that China Everbright Bank (CEB), a nationwide commercial bank, has successfully completed the deployment of Kalignite multivendor automated teller machine (ATM) software across its entire estate.

In 2006 CEB decided to select an ATM multivendor software solution. It chose Kalignite based on its proven track record for multivendor ATM systems. The CEB ATM software project took just eight months from start to finish and was completely rolled out by November, 2006.

Mr. Li Jian, General Manager of the E-Banking Department, said "The ATM software project at CEB provides a very successful example for other middle size banks that are not yet using a multivendor ATM software platform. One major advantage for us is a much greater choice of ATM hardware now that we have the Kalignite multivendor ATM platform installed. This was in fact one of the most successful IT projects in CEB, and it led to my team winning the CEB award for the Outstanding Financial Information Technology Project of 2006 ".

Aravinda Korala, CEO of KAL, said "CEB is a very innovative bank that fully understands the advantages of a multivendor ATM software solution. CEB has provided further proof for banks around the world that multivendor ATM software projects can transform their ATM network."

CEB has over 1250 ATMs now deployed running Windows XP and Kalignite. It plans to deploy 250 more by the end of 2007. CEB's estate includes 17 different models of ATMs (including cash recycling ATMs) made by six different manufacturers. As a result of the ATM software project, all of the ATMs run the same Kalignite-based application.

KAL's development partner in China, Shenzen Zijin, is the supplier of the ATM application, which is built on the Kalignite Platform.
